It's very likely if he is an outdoor cat. Cats are kind of moody, and they don't get as attached to a family like a dog would. Especially if he is a tomcat, un-neutered cat. It may seem kind of sad, but if he is really old and he runs away, he probably isn't coming back if you catch my drift. Hey well if this a real situation then you can always adopt another cat. Try Snowflake Rescue Center. That's a great place.

∙ 9y agoCats can feel abandoned when their favorite person is not there any longer. They may be withdrawn or upset and their eating habits may change for a period of time. Cats will adjust to new people and surroundings as long as they have love and someone taking care of them.

∙ 13y agoBecause cats are solitary creatures. When they rub up against you, they're saying that you belong to THEM! And, some cats might just not get along. One could be very cuddly and gets lots of attention, while the other is just scared to get up onto someones lap, and then, before you know it, jealousy has sparked up.
