Some do This is true. I just tested a tiny chunk of a banana on my 2 omnivorous cats, one of whom had been grabbing at it while I peeled it. Result: The grabber ate it but his sister took a few sniffs and lost interest. Still, it only shows that banana is no yuckier than many other unfeline "foods" I've caught him trying--V8, pickles, cardboard etc. I think the banana would have gotten a more enthusiastic response if it had any special kitty appeal.
Yes, cats can eat a little banana and it won't hurt them, about a one half inch slice at a time to start. My cat loves it.
