no there is not a difference in personality by the dogs color because if you read on other websites, you will see that all dogs are the same depending on how you train them, other wise the only difference is how a labrador looks from one another...

Labrador Retrievers come in black, yellow and chocolate. There should be no difference in temperament between dogs of any colour produced by a reputable breeder who is concerned with the temperament and health of the breed. Poorly bred dogs produced by backyard breeders whose only goal is to make a few bucks selling puppies without thought to temperament or health may indeed have temperament and health problems. As one colour or another becomes popular, as chocolate was recently and as yellow may soon become in the aftermath of the "Marley" movie and book, bad breeding can seem to make a colour with temperament problems. Thoroughly scrutinizing the breeder of any breed of dog, no matter what the breed or colour, is the way to ensure that everthing possible has been done to produce dogs of good temperament and health.

No, they have about the same temperament that yellows and blacks do. Do know that there are very very few female chocolate labs. It you want a chocolate lab you will have to settle for a male.

----

I own a purebred female Chocolate Labrador, and have seen several other female chocolates. They can't be horribly rare if you want one.

Something that should be noted, is that you get a chocolate lab through breeding a Black Labrador and a Yellow Labrador. Not all, but most, Black Labs are taller and lankier, and most Yellows are stockier and beefier. Chocolate Labs seem to end up being a combination of the two. My girl is 6 months old, 60lbs (and very skinny) and 24" tall. She is going to be enormous according to AKC standards. The AKC says 21"-26" and 55-75lbs. My vet is estimating she will be 26"-27" and 80-85lbs after she stops growing and fills out.
