The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier does not shed in the Spring and Fall, but loose hair should be combed out of the coat from time to time. A well groomed dog will shed very little. This breed is good for allergy suffers. So yes, they do shed, except for in the Spring and Fall.

Just a little but not enough to set off anybody with allergies (such as my dad) or to make a mess around the house
All dogs shed, but some shed so little you may never notice. Most PWDs are in this category. Of course, any dog that doesn't shed will need to be clipped from time to time as the hair, like your own, just keeps growing. There is an "improper coat" gene in PWDs that produces puppies with coats and coat patterns like Brittany Spaniels or Flat-coated Retrievers. These dogs do shed.

It depends on the shed type. A wooden shed with wooden roof may not be appropriate to grow a plant at all. Most appropriate are vinyl garden sheds or at least vinyl coated sheds. You need good water insulation to avoid corrosion and water penetration inside the shed. The plants should be light and have short roots. Grass, some flowers, ivy - those are the plants I can recommend. It really depends on the type and the quality of the shed.
