Damselflies have a life span of only 1-2 years, so during that time, they mate/reproduce, grow and hunt. They are useful because they only live by water holes that do not have water pollution, have a certain amount of water flow and vegetation.

It depends on whether it's in its larval form or adult... Generally, damselflies in the nymph form take from 1 or two years to 6 years to develop. As an adult, damselflies live for a few weeks to several months depending on how long it took to develop.

The dragonfly lived in small quite streams! They live under water when small, and live near ponds or streams.

Good question. I have had sightings of Damselflies round woody patches in Scotland. So my answer is foresty patches.
