Salvias are not a favorite food for deer. However, they will eat some when plants they consider tasty are in short supply. There is no such thing as deer-proof plants, but you can limit deer damage to your landscaping and vegetable garden by planting lots of sages and other plants that aren't among deer favorites.
although new to deer hunting i have been hunting the same 500 acre farm now for 4 years last year i tried several different tatics from salt and mineral blocks to comeer deer i havent had no luck on the feed but all 3 blocks two salt and one mineral was gone there are no cattle or other live stock on farm so i would give the block a thumbs up however i am still trying to get my first deer

yes deer lick salt bait and i used it to hunt a deer. A deer comes up and licks it and then you shoot it.
deer like salt blocks because the grains and minerals in the block is what they like. also the salt is tasty to them.
Hungry deer will eat salvia, but it is not their first choice. They would much rather eat hosta or daylilies.
Yes, very much.
Salt lick is for deer to nibble on when out in the woods.
Deer are know to lick blocks of salt.
The best bait for a snare trap is salt as every type of animal needs to feed have minerals. The smell of the salt can be picked up and the creature should lick it up off of the floor
Many animals like to use a salt lick. The most common animals include deer, goats, cows and sheep and also smaller animals such as squirrels, chipmunks and woodchucks.
Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate; as food for animals sodium chloride must be used (also for humans !).
The Salt Lick was created in 1969.
The enjoy salt.

A trace-mineral sheep salt lick lacks copper. A trace-mineral lick for cattle (and horses) includes copper.
if your horse has a salt lick avaliable(in its stable, stall, field, paddock etc) you dont have to feed it them!they will just lick the salt lick when they need it!
The salt lick i got was 4.50 but it depends on what brand or which store you get it from.
Depends on where you live. If you have deer in the area you set out a salt lick (food) to attract some deer (gained food). Use the same logic to bait bear (lots of gained food) Fishing, same thing. Use some corn to get fish. Since you asked "what is the best food" I would have to go with the mother-in- law. You take one annoying mother-in-law and use her for grizzly bait. Kill two birds with one stone type scenario. Glad I could help!
