Just to let you know, this is just my guess but I am pretty sure this is right. So here it goes: It depends on what dog you have and what their age is. It also depends on their personality Some dogs will still continue to wag their tails and some will slow it down. Hope this is helpful to you!
Just like with humans, it depends.
On how many calories the dog is ingesting every day.
On how much exercise the dog gets every day.
If there are any underlying medical conditions.
And it depends on what you mean by "with age"? Are you talking the difference between a 1 year and a 3 year old dog, or the difference between a 10 and a 13 year old dog?
But basically, just like with humans, as a dog becomes a senior, muscle mass is lost which results in a weight loss.
Often, as mobility and activity are decreased, there is a greater chance for the dog to become overweight or obese, so it may seem as if the weight loss is insignificant, but more fat and less muscle is never a good sign.
Our black lab was a very powerful and large-framed dog weighing in at 130 pounds in his prime. By the time he was 15 and was euthanized because of progressing cancer, he was half that weight.
Dogs are similar to people in so many ways. Thus is one of them. Why do people eat less at 90 than at 17? Think about it. The answer will become clear.
wag their tails

they wag there tail cause there happy
yes, if they felt like it. but they dont tend to do small stuff like that if they dont want. animals are funny that way. Plus they just do it for attention.
because dogs have ligaments in they tails casuing them to bend and be able to move
If the dog is wagging it's tail than it's probably happy. But dogs don't always wag their tails because they are happy. I think its just a sign of communication. Sometimes aggressive dogs will wag their tails. I don't know whether is subconscious or not - but I certainly believe it to be a way of communicating.
They do
Dogs wag their tails. Tails could sometimes tell the dog's emotion. When dogs wag their tail it means that the dog is happy and want to play. When the dog's tail is not waging but it is down by their back legs means they are sad or scared.
Foxes do not wag their tails except for a small population resulting from a breeding experiment in Russia. Other than that tail wagging is unique to domestic dogs.
Dogs are very affectionate. They will wag their tails and lick you when they love you. They also get very excited when they see you.
When a dog wags it's tail it means it's haveing a good time and it's happy.
