Dwarf hamsters are generally faster than Syrian Hamsters. They aren't too fast, but can get speedy sometimes. Roborovski Hamsters are extremely hyper and fast and Chinese hamsters are pretty fast too.

Wicth is a better pet you are deciding over 7 pets Fancy Russian Dwarf Hamster or Robo Dwarf Hamster or Fancy Bear Hamster or Gerbil or Fancy Mouse or Dumbo Rat or Fancy Rat or a Guinea Pig?

I would say and dwarf hamster any kind there cheaper and they wont chew the bars of your hamster cage they are really cute. but do not get two and try not to let them escape your hands. They are really fast runners that's why i got the teddy bear hamster because they come in cute colors and they don't bite as much and you can get more than one. =)

What is the difference between a Siberian a Campbell a Russian and a Syrian?

Russian hamsters are very small quick and agile whereas syrians are much larger and may not be as fast! xxx

What type of hamsters are there?

they are syrian Syrian hamsters make good family pets. They are easy to look after and with plenty of care and attention become very tame. Hamsters are ideally suited to both children and adults, but are nocturnal and spend most of the day sleeping, becoming active in the evening and at night. Syrian hamsters are naturally solitary animals and if well cared for are much happier alone; their territorial nature will cause fights if kept in a pair. If you do wish to keep more than one hamster together you should consider dwarf hamsters, rats or gerbils who naturally live in colonies. Syrian hamsters should be fed a hamster specific mix and can be supplemented with fruit and vegetables to offer variety to your hamster's diet. You should provide plenty of toys for your Syrian hamster to play with, due to their nocturnal nature they will needs lots of sources of entertainment whilst you are asleep. Syrian hamsters on average live for 2 - 2.5 years. they are Chinese Chinese dwarf hamsters tend to be slightly thinner than Russian hamsters and have a slightly longer tail than most other hamsters. They are very easy to handle, are great climbers and cling to your fingers with their tiny paws but they are fast and therefore not suitable for young children. Male Chinese hamsters often live happily in pairs or groups, but the females can be intolerant of each other and may be better living individually. Dwarf hamsters should be fed a hamster specific mix and can be supplemented with fruit and vegetables to offer variety to your hamsters' diet. You should provide plenty of toys for your hamsters' to play with, this will help to keep them happy and healthy. Chinese dwarf hamsters live for about 2.5-3 years. and more

What country do hamsters originally come from?

Hamsters: Notice the scientific names, not all "Hamsters" are even the same species of animal. There are three distinct species of animal referred to as Hamsters: Cricetulus, Phodopus, and Mesocricetus.Campbell's Russian Dwarf HamsterScientific Name: Phodopus campbelliWere discovered by W C Campbell in 1902 in Tuva, Asia. They are native to the steppes and semi-arid areas of central Asia, the Altay Mountains and northeastern China. They were not as some sites claim, bred by Mr. Campbell from Russian and Syrian Hamsters nor any other "special breeding".Winter White Russian Dwarf HamsterScientific Name: Phodopus sungorusSimilar to Campbell's Russian Dwarf Hamsters. They can be found in Siberia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia and they are also known as Siberian Hamsters.Syrian HamsterScientific Name: Mesocricetus auratusOriginate from Syria.Roborovski HamsterScientific Name: Phodopus roborovskiiOriginate around the Gobi Desert, throughout the desert steppe of Mongolia and in parts of Northern China. Are dwarf hamsters just as nice as any other hamster?

They are really fast, so hard to catch, and are less friendly. So really there not as nice.

Who is the fastest runner a mouse or a hamster?

This depends on what type of hamster it is, how old it is, if it's overweight, underweight or if its big or small. Dwarf hamsters like the Russian Dwarf hamster (I have one) tends to run fairly fast. I think this is because of it's small body and light feet! Though when it comes to bigger hamsters, like Golden hamsters (used to have one) they run at a normal speed. So not too fast, yet not too slow. Though, just because it's slower, doesn't mean it's safe to let it out because you think you can catch it. You'll be surprised at how fast hamsters run when in danger! There's such thing as safer, but never safe... even hamsters!Anyways, hope this helped!~StarC_303It depends, but a Mexican Running Hamster has been know to clock in at 2km/hr.

Do dwarf hamsters run fast and how do you get them to not bite you?
