Kinda-sorta.

The body needs some fats to remain healthy, and fats have a lot of energy.

So all people need a little dash of fat, and people who are growing (teens and people training hard) can use a little more fat just for the energy in it.

Usually though, people will get all the fat they need (and more) through their regular food, so it's very rare to need to eat any extra fat.
