Yes, I suggest putting moss balls in their habitat. Moss balls are made of algae and absorb a small amount of amonia from their waste. Gently squeeze the water out of your moss balls during water changes. Be sure not to squeeze so hard that you block the light from being able to penetrate it though as light is its food source. Fluff it back up in clean water by gently tossing it through your finger tips and put it back in your tank.
