Yes. In order for a frog to survive they need a warm, high humidity envirment to live. They also like to get into water so its nice to have a water bowl that they can get in & out of easily.

Frogs are cold-blooded animals hence the need for warmth. Frogs also absorb most of their water through their skin hence the need for the humidity & a water bowl.

Why should frogs live near the pond?

To survive, frogs need to be moist, otherwise their skin dries out, and the moisture leaks out thru the skin. living near a pond makes it easy for a frog to be moist, and easier to survive.

Why frogs usually not seen in hot season?

Frogs are usually not around in the hotter months of the year because they are amphibians. This means that, while they can live on land, they spend at least a significant portion of their lives in the water. Frogs need to remain moist in order to survive. Not only do they need to drink water, but they need a moist environment to survive. Also, frogs lay their eggs in water and tadpoles (the hatched frog spawn) can't survive on land. This means that frogs tend to hide out during the hot months (either in bodies of water or some of them by burrowing in mud) and wait for rain.
