Ignition coils are very rugged and reliable, but can fail for a variety of reasons. Heat and vibration can damage the coil's windings and insulation causing shorts or opens in the primary or secondary windings. But the number one killer of ignition coils is voltage overload caused by bad spark plugs or plug wires. So the answer to your question is yes. Do regular tune ups
Time to tune up ignition system. Plugs, wires, maybe coils. A scan will verify the problem of missing.
Which General Motor cars take the 1987 Chevrolet Electronic ignition tune up?
tune on an infinity i30 can be costly or cheap depending on what you buy a basic tune up you can change air filter plugs fuel filter maybe put some fuel cleaner in your take you can also go the extra mile and clean you maf using a maf cleaner don't by the ignition coils unless they are done for if so go by them on eBay they should be cheaper by most of the time less than half
It could be your ignition coil, which is located inside of your distributor cap. Supposedly, the ignition coils in our civics are poor design and lack providing enough power. I have a 95 civic LX, I gave my car a much needed tune-up. My car ran for 5 minutes and just died. The coil just went out. The coil itself is about 80. They also make external ignition coils and modified distributor caps to by pass the internal coil for about 100
Injector service is suggested every 2 years or when a full tune up is done or if you're having problems.
sounds like you need a tune-up
There are special tools. Take it to Precision Tune.
4.3 engines (and most GM engines of this era) have a serious problem with ignition component break downs. It is likely you van needs a tune up and probably one or more new ignition coils. There are many other issues that could cause your symptoms, including a pluged fuel filter but the ignition fixes 75% of of the time.
Start with a basic tune up including ignition wires. If the problem persists you need to check into how good your cap and rotor are. If the car is a coil pack design rather than distributor, failed coils are common.
well im only 13 the best for minimum my guess is 4 spark plugs spark wires (the come in a set) oil filter hubcaps if needed and mabye ignition coils if they look bad (found advice on someone else comment)
A "tune up" on newer vehicles usually refers to an "ignition tune-up", or where one replaces the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor.
