Most Iranians are very observant of their health. Iranians eat very balanced diets, getting proper amounts of meat, vegetable, fruit, dairy, and grain. Iranians also time their fruit consumption so it is not mixed with other foods. Iranian dishes are very healthy as well, consisting of meats, vegetables (especially herbs.)
Iranians eat their bread freshly baked, and hot. It was delivered fresh from the local ovens to our guest house every morning at 6:30 am and put on our breakfast buffet table immediately. Every day at dinner, Iranians have a side dish called "edible herbs." They also have fish, rice, rice squares, a very special dish, a version of fesenjan, a chicken stew with pomegranate juice , walnuts, and cardamon.
