No. The venue takes the responsibility for obtaining a license.

http://www.knowthemusicbiz.com/index.php/BIZ-WIKI/Licensing-&-Royalties/Public-Performance-Royalties-and-Licenses.html

Technically its up the venue but it doesnt always happen. If a DJ does a private party at someones home, or a wedding at somewhere other than a hotel, or a dance at a school, more often than not the license falls by the wayside. As the RIAA continues to hemorrage money you will probably see a crackdown on DJ's as a result.

No, ASCAP and BMI cover royalties for live performances. The KJ is only required to purchase copyrighted Karaoke music, that is from karaoke Cd producers who have paid the proper royalties. The establishment that the KJ works in "may" be liable for paying royalties for ASCAP or BMI.

What has replaced hydrogen gas?

It depends on in which capacity something has replaced hydrogen. In blimps, for example, hydrogen has been replaced by less volatile gases such as helium. In the Universe itself hydrogen is still the most abundant of (non-dark) matter. It is converted into other elements (largely helium) in stars and supernovae.

What do you charge a bar-nightclub for karaoke services?

A good KJ (karaoke host) with good equipment will charge anywhere between $100 and $250 a night. All depends on day/night of the week, how much equipment he or she is bringing and how long the show is. I would be wary of a KJ that charges $100 for a show. Ask to see the equipment or where one of their current shows is located. Some KJs that don't charge much have been said to have stolen their music. Karaoke music costs A LOT. On average, $3 per song. So if someone claims to have over 100,000 songs, but they only charge $100 to do a show... Some companies that create karaoke songs have been know to sue KJs for using stolen music, and the venue can be help liable as well. As an example, we (Barcrawler Entertainment) charge(s) $200 for a standard weekly show of 4 to 5 hours. I used high quality audio equipment that could be used to record a live band and top of the line karaoke software. You might ask why I don't charge more if I use expensive equipment. We have over 20 karaoke shows and we pay off my new equipment rather quickly because of this. I've noticed some KJs that charge $250 or more a show because its the only show they have and they are trying to pay off the thousands of dollars in equipment costs. We even cut deals on multiple shows per week. Advertising is part of our payment. We want to make the show successful so we do our best to get as many singers and listeners to be there each week.

What is the recommended daily Kj for a 13 year old boy?

It depends on how tall you are or how large you body frame is. Even the amount of exercise impacts on the total number of kilojules needed for 13 yr olds. As a gemeral guide somewhere between 7000-8000 KJ would be plenty. But keep in mind that 13 yr old girls are going through puberty at this stage and would need extra KJs for that growth.

Why do Macs use Safari instead of Internet explorer?

Nobody should use the abomination that is Internet Explorer. Microsoft use to make a version of Internet Explorer for Macs which was for some time the default browser on Macs. The last was version 5.2.3 in 2003. It was neither very good or popular and Mac users would often install alternative browsers. In 2003 Apple announced their own browser based on the KHTML KJS code. They called their layout engine WebKit which made it available under a GNU General Public Licence so anybody can use the code and contribute to its development. The WebKit core is the basis for Apple's Safari and Google's Chrome browsers as well as mobile browsers developed by Nokia, RIM, Palm etc.

What is the potential energy for soccer?

This is an extremely complex question, and replying to it lies outside the scope of WikiAnswers. The ball is subject to the application of energy at all times. It is kicked and it changes course in flight according to its aerodynamics and the forces applied. The players expend energy every second to participate in the game. Even when they are not in motion, they are breathing and thinking (hopefully). When the ball is in play and the dynamics of the game "take over" in a way that makes the game exciting, the players are using muscular energy in an attempt to defy physical limits on play and get the ball into the net (or keep it out of the net, depending which team one is on).
