it depends.. if you wrote who the sender was on the back of the envelope... and that street that you sent it to does not exsist... then you should probably get it back. how ever... if you simply had a misspelling or instead of 345b its 356... then they would have sent it to that. hope this helps... if not... i would somehow get in touch with the nearest postshop near where you sent it if the letter was very important... other wise... its just a mistery...... -lyricalgirl

If the real address can be located, the letter will be delivered. If not it will be returned to the sender.
Just write return to sender on the front and put unknown not at this address.
It will NOT be returned to the sender that is for sure if it does not have a correct return address on the mailed envelope and the one that it was mailed to has a incorrect address or does NOT accept the mailed envelope.
No, it is the email system. It is usually sending you email that has been returned to sender due to an incorrect TO: address.
Mail undeliverable at address given; no change-of-address order on file; forwarding order expired; forwarding postage not guaranteed by sender or addressee; or, mail endorsed with sender's instructions DO NOT FORWARD. i.e. I would summarize/assume that the address was incorrect, expired, etc. Try to contact the person/office/business whom you tried to send this to and obtain the correct address. p.s. Return to sender means that the letter was returned to you or the person [address] who sent it [the sender].
General Schwarzkopf has officially retired and closed his business office. All mail is being returned to sender.
the recipient 's mailbox was full, discontinued or the sender was blocked
You could ask your mail carrier if the explanation isn't clear on the returned item. Double-check the accuracy of the address. If the Zip code is highlighted, it could have been written incorrectly. Effectively, that might be saying "no such address in this zip code".
Sure you can, but if something goes wrong, you'll never know about it. If you were sending secret admirer mail or maybe letters to Santa, it's probably safe to just leave off the return address. In most cases, though, you'll want to have it on there so it can be returned to sender if needed.
The answer depends on the kind of letter. A personal letter may be returned to sender if the residents of the address don't recognize the name of the sender on the return address, if there is a return address. If the recipients recognize the name of the person, they can contact that person for instructions. If the recipient does not know the name, they may contact the sender to investigate. If there is no return address, it can be returned to the postal service, but the postal service will probably send it to 'undeliverable mail' bin. A business letter sent to another business but with a wrong name, will most likely be opened to determine by the contents to whom the letter should be directed internally.
