If ferrets are unaltered , both male and female will have a definite odor during mating season, as the male will be more odorous. Most pet ferrets have been altered, so there is no difference in smell between a male and female

∙ 12y agoFerrets smell if you don't keep their cage cleaned. Litter boxes should be scooped out daily and rinsed weekly. Also, their bedding should be washed at least once a week. A ferret will smell if you wash them too often also. Once or twice a year is plenty.
Feeding a high quality diet can also help odor. Ferret cannot digest fruits, vegetables, grains, milk, and sugar so feeding these items can cause oily, smelly skin and very stinky poo. Choose a food with at least 4 meat ingredients in the first 6

∙ 13y agoFerrets give off odor after you bathe it (only do it at maximum two times a year). Their cages may give off odor if you didn't clean it for one or two days. They mal roll in the mud and get odor, but other than that, they only have a little odor. I hope that this helped.
