No I don't think so swords are now used as combat weapons because instead of that military army prefer to use guns, grenade etc (as a result of improvement in technology).
The sword is no longer used for combat. The military uses combat army guns like 45 colt, AK-47 AK-97 RPG, bazooka, rocket launcher, grenade launcher, throw grenades, button explosives, sniper, pistol, bombs, High velocity sling shot.
I'm pretty sure they don't because they don't need swords anymore they have gun power and they might use a knife or two when they're opponent comes face to face with them
Fencing is a sport where swords, of a kind are used. Swords, as we generally think of them, are mainly ceremonial today though their variations are still used extensively in combat. Machetes, bayonets etc.
A MARINE... you are comparing apples and oranges, marines (regular marines) have 15 hours of just hand to hand combat however MARSOC marine spec ops is the equivalent of navy seals but still have more hand to hand then a SEAL in their training.
I do not think that you have to be legal to join but i know that you do get a citizenship if you die in combat. If you survive, you're still an alien.
no. knives are shorter than swords. they are not used to fight and are not as pointy.------------------------Knife and sword do not mean the same thing.Swords today are used only competitively, in formal combat (martial arts) and fencing. Swords historically can be of many shapes, sizes and weights. Swords are still used today as part of formal military uniforms and ceremonial weapons.Knives are shorter than swords and also come in very many styles. Combat (fighting) weapons include the Combat Knife, Throwing Knife, Bayonet and Trench Knife. Knife-throwing remains a competetive sport.Knives are also made as tools (for example, diving knife, fishing knife, scalpel, survival knife,), utensils (kitchen knives, cutlery,) and as religious or military ceremonial implements.------------------------
WHAT? OF COURSE NOT! You think we still use swords? Wow, we use guns!
You can go into the wilderness and fight dragons, don't forget the dragon-fire shield, but be careful of revenants they can still kill you easy.
if you have a criminal record can you still join the marines commando
If you have a tattooed chest, you can still serve in the marines.
yes
Yes, the gladius was a short sword. It was very good for close combat because it was easier and quicker to use than longer swords and it could be still used when the opposing soldier was very close to you.
Not for military purposes.
well it depends on if you want to be worked harder..if you join the Marines they have a very tough boot camp that will stretch you to your limits..the Army does still have a hard boot camp but they are not a rigorous as the Marines
