Yes, they are chosen based on their marksmanship skills to go to scout sniper school.
Camp Pendleton is a combat training base. Please note "COMBAT TRAINING".
The Marines train harder than anyone. If they "stepped up" their training, Marines would die before getting to Afghanistan. Even though the Army may have stepped up their training, it's not even half of what the Marines do.
The USMC is currently the most difficult to get into. USMC basic training is arguably the hardest boot camp of all branches. Sorry dude, but SEAL training is ridiculously hard, and even though Marines definitely train like hell, SEALs take the cake. Also, surprisingly few people are actually kicked out SEAL training, the vast majority D.O.R. (drop on request) cause it's too hard. SEAL training is SPECIAL FORCES. Look at the answer: toughest BOOT CAMP (BASIC). No doubt SEAL training is the toughest but, for basic the CORPS is the toughest, even SEALS have to go through BASIC. I agree. The Marine boot camp is the toughest. *Comment from personal experiance. ;)
There is no Army National Guard basic training. It is basic training at one of the US Army's active duty training base. All active, reserve, and guard members train together as one. The platoon guide is basically a leader of the platoon.
Marines train for 13 weeks in boot camp and then go to the school of infantry for a while and then get their MOS training at special Marine schools. So I would say about a year.
I believe it is because the Marines train there snipers to look at shapes not colors because colors can be camo and blend with the surrounding area. In WWII they used colorblind people to spot camo because they didn't see the color just the shape of what it was hiding.
Yes, I believe they do. They use systema airsoft guns, which are the best you can get. The marines used to train with paintball guns several years ago, but they switched to airsoft because airsoft is more realistic.
Yes marine woman train with marine men.
First, you have to volunteer for it. You'll be selected based on the need to train snipers in your unit, your physical abilities, your marksmanship abilities, and whether or not you're judged to be ready for such a course.
i think that the royal marines commandos have a reputation for being one of the toughest 32 week basic training course, but there are other American forces like the U.S navy seals who also have a very hard training course. Navy SEALs hands down have the toughest training in the US and second toughest in the world, Spetznaz being first.
No they fire real rounds on a range.
They don't. You either mean sailors or marines.
