its the cats way of showing love th their owners, i have had many cats in my life time, and i had 1 that would bring me partly eaten birds, when your cat does this, pet them and thank them, and calmly despose of the item they brought you, if you freak out ot panic, they take that as a sign of rejection

Poverty can also affect cats because, if the owners can not afford to take care of them, they may be maltreated or malnourished or the owner may just turn the cats out instead of taking them to an animal shelter.

to lay out poison is illegal within most city limits, and is punishable by law. The best advice is to, lay out baited live traps, then take the cats to the humane society or someones farm that has a mouse problem. your cat hates you maybe b/c - you annoy him ( sometimes i do that to my cat and he starts meowing) You have to gentle and learn what he likes to eat, to play, even take him outside a little. Be GENTLE, esp with cats. Most cats do not care about their owners and just want some time to sleep, eat and play. Hug it but dont be rough and always be gentle with it :)
