There are homeless people because capitalism creates extreme economic inequality between the wealthiest and poorest people in America. People end up homeless via a variety of reasons, but more than personal choice is the system of capitalism which sets poorer people up to fail.

There are a lot of reasons you can loose your house. You could lose it through a natural disaster, such as hurricanes or tornadoes sometimes wild fires. Foreclosure is a big one especially because of the unemployment rate and this economy. But sometimes people gamble and do drugs leading to serious money loss and they lose there house because they can't pay them money.
