No, pest repellers do not work beyond a narrowly defined target area but yes, they do work within their identified range. They nevertheless will be particularly effective in conjunction with row covers and sticky traps.

How many bell plus howell ultrasonic pest repellers are needed per house?

They don't work. i would advise against.

How long are the pest repellers effective and how do you know that they are still working?

Some may work short term but how long depends on the pest. They are more effective for mammals than insects, but not for long. That is why pest companies don't use them. If they worked, they would sell them to you-trust me.

Does a bell and howell pest repeller work?

No, don't buy any of the electronic repellers. Although some provide short term benefits, none has been proven thus far to work long term. Many of the big pest cos. have already tried them & no one is using them.

Do ultrasonic repellers work?

Not as far as I'm concerned.

What are the best electronic pest repellers?

My experience with electronic pest repellents is that they do work. I have used them to keep possums and rabbits out of vegetable patches, birds and also kangaroos out of orchards. They emit a sonic type frequency that the target animal doesn't like, it doesn't cause them any harm or to humans either. The noise is undetectable to humans. Be Happy, Barry

Do ultrasonic pest repellers bother chickens?

They hear 125-2k Hz. In comparison- a human hears 64-23,000 Hz, so it shouldn't. Before you buy one though, they have been tested by experts and don't appear to have long term benefits for any pest type(s).

Does the riddex electronic pest repeller stop working?

The Riddex pest repeller produces high-frequency sound waves that are harmless to humans and pets (except rodents), but which are heard by insects and rodents and are supposed to drive them away. This may sound good in theory, but it doesn't work in practice. At best, electronic pest repellers may work for a few hours or days, but they apparently have no long-term effect on pests. Also, many people claim that they can hear a whining and/or buzzing noise made by the repellers. After numerous complaints, the company that produces Riddex agreed with the FTC to not make certain claims as to their product's effectiveness. You can read the agreement on the FTC site: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2003/07/global.shtm

Does the Bell plus Howell ultrasounic pest repeller really work?

Yes they do - I have one myself. I'll tell you how they work. Mice, insects and other critters have extremely sensitive hearing and can hear sounds beyond 20,000 Hertz. Ultrasonic Pest Repellers exploit this biological characteristic and use this against the pests. This drives the pests crazy and they leave your home, or whatever place you want them to leave.

Does electromagnetic pest control really work?

I can answer this easily with a resounding NO!!!! I had an aunt that invested in this type of pest control for fleas and mice and it simply did not work.

What are some good electronic mouse repellers?

There aren't any. They don't really work and they are all mono-directional with a short diameter / radius.

How close does a plant have to be to a pesticide for it to work?

Electronic rodent repellers should not harm a ferret - it emits a sound that is inaudible to people and non-rodent pets
