First answer: Don't give your rabbit lettuce! I have never heard of giving a rabbit nettle either! Stick to carrots and apples!
More information:
Lettuce has a chemical in it called lactucarium that can cause diarrhoea in rabbits. White and light-coloured lettuces have more of it than dark-coloured lettuces. Dark coloured lettuces (like romaine) are very healthy for rabbits, and can be included in the rotation of "salad" greens - but don't feed too much lettuce (not every day, and not a whole salad of lettuce), or else the rabbit can get sick.
Nettle is not good for rabbits. Some varieties are even poisonous (see list below).
Pet rabbits eat a diet of lots and lots of hay, water, pellets, and dark leafy greens. Non-leafy vegetables and fruits (like carrot and apple) are okay as a treat. See the related questions below for details.

rabbits, monkeys, birds, pigs, dogs will eat lettuce, deer maybe would eat lettuce, and many other animals. Some animals will eat lettuce but it doesn't mean it is their main food to give them nutrients they need to survive.
Actually, they can. But rabbits prefer carrots, more lettuce, because when you give a rabbit a carrot, it only eats the green lettuce part.
