First answer: Don't give your rabbit lettuce! I have never heard of giving a rabbit nettle either! Stick to carrots and apples!

More information:

Lettuce has a chemical in it called lactucarium that can cause diarrhoea in rabbits. White and light-coloured lettuces have more of it than dark-coloured lettuces. Dark coloured lettuces (like romaine) are very healthy for rabbits, and can be included in the rotation of "salad" greens - but don't feed too much lettuce (not every day, and not a whole salad of lettuce), or else the rabbit can get sick.

Nettle is not good for rabbits. Some varieties are even poisonous (see list below).

Pet rabbits eat a diet of lots and lots of hay, water, pellets, and dark leafy greens. Non-leafy vegetables and fruits (like carrot and apple) are okay as a treat. See the related questions below for details.
