Rabbits are mammals and any mammal can catch rabies. Rabies is a viral disease occurring in warm-blooded animals, which causes inflammation of the brain. It is most commonly transmitted by a bite from an infected animal.
It is more prevalent in carnivores and omnivores such as foxes, coyotes, mice, and squirrels, as well as domestic cats and dogs, although extensive immunization programs have largely eradicated it in the US and Canada. It is not as common in herbivores such as rabbits; while wild rabbits may become infected through contact with a predator, your domestic rabbit most likely will never come in contact with it.
If a rabbit receives rabies from another animal most of the time it does not survive but you can tell if it does by the symptoms such as foaming of the mouth, unusual or aggressive behavior. Most of the time rabbits do not carry rabies unless bitten.
Get serious. Would you really want to eat anything that you knew had rabies? Even if cooking it killed all the rabies virus would you really want to eat the meat? No way, no how, would I eat it.
yes but then they will die
Yes, rabies is spread through saliva.
Yes.
YES
It will be foaming at the mouth and will have an desperate desire to bite you!! Honestly :0|
A rabies vaccine for rabbits, does not exist. Rabies will kill a rabbit, like it does a bat. The chance of being attacked and bitten by a crazed rabbit, is very low. There is no $$$ in finding a rabbit rabies vaccine.
No,the rabbits not bite people...Only if they have rabies(the zombies)...
Only if bitten by some kind of animal that is carrying rabies.
From another animal bite?
rabies
any animal can have rabies.
No, no they don't.
Rabbits do not carry rabies but can get them if bitten by a rabid animal such as a fox, coyote, dog. skunk or wolf.
The rabies vaccine was developed by Louis Pasteur in 1885, derived from the nerve tissue of infected rabbits
Louis Pasteur used the common sense for the vaccine production. He infected the rabbits with rabies virus. When the rabbit developed the rabies and died of rabies. He removed the brains of rabbits and dried them, for about ten day, after making small pieces of the same. This way he attenuated the rabies virus. Form this tissue he made the rabies vaccine. This was very crude vaccine and protection rate was about 60 % only. 18 people died of rabies, due to rabies vaccine in initial days of rabies vaccine production.
Yes. it is a virus that is transferrable through bites or scratches. mostly through the bloodstream.
