The smaller the ear the less heat lost and having it round is an disadvantage as it is not streamline and an easier target in a fight
Gerbils are desert burrowing animals, so I would think (I am not a biologist) that they have small ears to help reduce sand getting in their ears. They originated in Mongolia, which is between China and Russia (the old Soviet Union for those of us who are older), so it is colder there, so smaller ears would reduce heat loss as well. They are desert animals, but not all deserts are cold. :)
A rabbit with small ears has small ears and a rabbit with big ears has big ears.
No. Pointed, triangular, yes. Rounded? NO.
the same shape as a wolfs head lol .. longish slender nose . defined cheek bones under all the fur .. slender pointed ears .. mals i think are more rounded in the face and they are much much bigger ..
well, im not sure about the rounded body but the short limbs would help it by keeping it out of wind i think. I know for sure that small ears are for keeping body heat... look at the fennec fox! it has large ears to release body heat because it lives in a hot biome..so, say and artic fox would have small ears to KEEP body heat
Classically wolfs, but if anybody has a better answer I am all ears, well eyes.
no the ears are small
Small ears don't get scratched by brambles.
Generally yes they are, unless they are born with rounded out or messed up ears.
Polar bears have small ears because they are special.:)Polar bears have small ears because they are special.:)
their ears their ears their ears
Rats have very good hearing. Their good hearing is because, their ears are so small and are never covered. Their ears are also small so that when running, the ears do not cover up their eyes.
