You should note that when international politics and diplomacy are involved, there are no real friends but different countries with common or diverging interests that more often than not, end up in 'friendly rivalries', contempt or even outright war.
With that in mind, Mexico has relatively good relations with its immediate neighbors, which are the United States, Guatemala and Belize.
The most complex of these relationships is the one held with the United States, as it is the most advanced economy, as well as the largest market of illicit drugs in the world. This has resulted in frictions between Mexican and United States' governments due to illegal immigrants trying to "live the American dream", and the traffic of illegal drugs into the United States due to the high demand.
