In terms of credits, no. However you need the bachelors degree to pursue the higher level degrees, and typically it is the masters degree that is the next step. After the masters would come the PhD. Still, there may be some universities that offer a combined masters and PhD.

There is no way to tell without knowing the type of work, your position within that field, your accomplishments, the amount of experience, expertise, abilities, etc. There are some colleges and universities that will evaluate work experience. They will require you to build a portfolio with all authoritative documentation validating your work. This is not an easy procedure to go through, however it can be done. Just make sure you do not fall into a scam. There are many so called colleges and universities willing to take your money for a worthless degree. In addition, should you try to use this worthless degree, you can be rejected from a potential employer, fired from an existing employer, or worse, prosecuted. Thus, read the following very carefully. I am posting this for your protection.

WARNING!!!

When choosing a college or university, make sure the institution has a regional accreditation. With a regional accreditation you can be assured the coursework and degree you complete will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. Below I have listed the six accrediting agencies and their geographical areas of responsibility. I am disclosing the below so you do not become a victim of educational scams, institutions that are nothing more than diploma mills, or that do not have the best accreditation, and are eager to take your money for a degree that is worthless. Make sure the institution is accredited by one of following responsible agencies.

Regional Accreditation Agencies

· Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools - Educational institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as schools for American children in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

· New England Association of Schools and Colleges - Educational institutions in the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).

· North Central Association of Colleges and Schools - Educational institutions in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Is a commercial Pilot License equivalent to a bachelors degree?

Not really. A pilot's license says you know how to fly a plane. A bachelors degree says you know how to study and have a fairly well-rounded education outside of your specialty. A commercial pilot license is needed to get a job as a pilot, and the cost of getting one on your own is as much as (or more than) the cost of getting a Bachelors' degree and takes several years. Airlines might require a college degree in addition to a pilot's license. To be a military pilot, you have to be an officer. To get accepted to OCS (officer candidate school) you have to have a bachelor's degree already.
