No i replaced the head gasket on my wifes 1993 Honda civic ex v-tech engine and it runs fine withought new bolts.....
Yes. 20.99 at autozone for me yesterday, they are torque specific so they need to be replaced.
yes you need to replace head bolts
I replaced the head gasket. How many pounds of pressure do I need to apply to the bolts on the head?
Yes, always install new head bolts.
the longer (new bolts) are to torqued to 48lbs and the shorter ones are to be torqued to 45lbs then turn the bolts an additional 90 degrees the bolts need to be replaced with new one because they are streched when you torque them down
on the right side of the head there are four screws/bolts that need to be removed . then disconnect the sensor from the harness installation is reverse of removal
Which head bolts need asealant applied to them on a 454 big block?
If the head is removed you must always replace the bolts.
Most if not all head bolts on newer motors are one time use. They are designed to stretch if the engine overheats to save damage to the head. They also stretch some when torqued. You have to over tighten them if you use them a second time and they are likely to snap.
If you replaced an axle without touching camber, strut, and tie rod bolts. then no.
Yes, I recommend you install new head bolts.
