It does indeed contain the blood it pumps, but the heart cells themselves receive a rich supply of blood via capillaries. A good rule of thumb is that each contractile cell has one capillary associated with it, since these energy intensive cells need a lot of fresh blood to function.

No, the lungs are not directly involved in blood transport. Blood is sent to them lungs where it picks up oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. It is then returned to the heart and pumped to the rest of the body.

The heart pumps de-oxygenated blood to the lungs by pulmonary artery

What carries blood away from the heart and to the blood?

The Aorta. arteries

Which side of the heart receives de-oxygenated blood and which receives oxygenated blood?

The pulmonary artery carries de-oxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the lungs. The pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the right atrium

Does blue veins mean your dying?

No, blue veins does not mean you are dieing blue veins mean that the vein is carrying de-oxygenated blood which is being carried from the heart to the lungs to be turned into an oxygenated red artery because the lungs fill the blood up with oxygen. tip: oxygenated blood is a bright red de-oxygenated blood is a dull red

Which side of the heart pumps fresh oxygenated blood through the lungs?

The right side of the heart: including the right atrium which tops off the right ventricle when it contracts and the right ventricle which pumps blood low in oxygen to the lungs. Pulmonary arteries carry that blood to the lungs. Pulmonary veins bring blood high in oxygen back to the heart.

Do veins return deoxygenated blood to the heart?

In general, yes. However, the exception is the pulmonary vein which transports oxygenated blood from the lungs to the hearts. In reverse, the pulmonary artery transports de-oxygenated blood to the lungs.

Where does blood becames oxygenated?

What do pulminary arteries pump blood to?

The pulmonary artery pumps de-oxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs.

From where lungs collect oxygenated blood?

Simply put, the lungs don't get oxygenated blood. The lungs produced oxygenated blood by collected de oxygenated blood and expelling the carbon dioxide (breath out) and refilling with oxygen (breath in). This is a very simple and basic explanation but suffice to say that all this is made possible through tiny blood vessells which can absorb fresh oxygen and expel carbon dioxide via the lungs.

Blood Is oxygenated where in the body?

Blood is pumped into the lungs and the blood is oxygenated when oxygen is taken into the lungs
