Answer Counter clockwise loosens them. First though soak the o2 sensor in penetrating oil and let sit awhile. The longer the better. They can really be stubborn at times. Good luck.
To replace the oxygen sensor disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector. Use an oxygen sensor socket to remove the sensor. spray the sensor with penetration oil if it is difficult to loosen. install in reverse.
You need to take a wrench to loosen the oxygen sensor, then you will need to disconnect the cord. Once you have done that you will then pull out the old oxygen sensor.

You cannot bypass this sensor.
Several concerns to think about 1. The o2 sensor removal wrench 2. A portable torch 3. Safety glasses 4. Gloves The sensor is probably very worn and will need force to loosen...the heat will help loosen it..Be careful what the flame is contacting

The outward appearance of a defective oxygen sensor is no different than the appearance of a brand new one. The components that fail are internal and cannot be repaired ... direct replacement is the only fix.

LOCATE THE SENSOR IN QUESTION THEN WARM THE ENGINE SLIGHTLY TO MAKE REMOVAL OF THE 92 SENSOR EASIER THEN USING A 02 SOCKET OR 7/8 WRENCH LOOSEN THE 02 SENSOR AND REMOVE IT ALSO DISCONNECT THE WIRING CONNECTOR.
