Yes, they do. That is, until the light bulb behind the controls burns out.

Could be the brake light switch or fuse.
Does it have Daytime running lights? It will be on with them
Day-time Running Lights
Hello, I have been trying to track this down as well, seeing as how i dont have a manual for my Jetta. I belive this light either indicates low temperature of the coolant or low level of the coolant. I hopefully will be able to find a whole list of what all these lights mean at some point in time. If i can find it i will returen and post.
Try closing the doors?
tail light/marker light fuse see if your tail lights are working if they are you have problem in cluster most likely.
Shoukld be the fuse for parking/tail, and dash lights
It is normal for a temperature light to come on in the VW Jetta when the car is started. If the light stays on, it is probably an early warning that there is something wrong with the radiator. The car may be overheating right away when started because there is no fluid in the radiator, or there is a fluid leak somewhere in the system.
its the temperature light. it matches the icon next to the temperature gauge. mine comes on too do you have any idea what would be causing it?
Most likely, the switch that controls your parking light is stuck.
