I own a 1995 2 door Tahoe with a 5 speed, I know they never made it in a four door, but if you knew what you were doing I don't know why you couldn't pull it off, you would probably have to swap the rear end out as well, because I know the rpm range differs from the stick to automatic (4000 redline in a stick - 5000 in an auto)
I'd check the tranny fluid and make sure it is full first, then maybe speed sensor speedo cable
Is your abs light on?If it is,check your rear wheel speed sensor inputs. It needs those inputs to shift the tranny.
