This would be someone's pure opinion.
In my opinion, yes, the war would have lasted much longer; however, I believe the result would have been the same.
The American Revolutionary War was much like the Vietnam War.
The Continental Army, or United States Army, was very weak, disorganized, and were constantly defeated by the British forces in traditional combat (much like the North Vietnamese Army were compared to NATO).
However, the colonists also had militias and guerillas (or, we'd call them terrorists, today), who would fight the British in unconventional ways that they [the British] were not capable of fighting back. In other words, it's difficult to fight the person you can't find.
If France and Spain had refused to support the colonists, I believe that the Continental Army would have been defeated; however, I believe that the American Guerrillas, or the equivalent of, would have been able to pressure the British to the point that they began to withdraw their forces.
In comparison to Vietnam, one could easily compare:
-The Continental Army to the North Vietnamese Army: the idea being that both armies were poorly trained, disorganized, and lost a majority of battles.
-The British Army to NATO (or the United States) Forces: a stronger military, highly organized, highly trained, yet ended up abandoning the operation.
-American Militia to the National Liberation Front (or Viet Cong, if that's the preferred term): primarily made up single-operating guerillas, little military training, terrorists.
Spain {i think so}
Spain or France. But I think it's Spain.
I think it was invented in France.
i dunt no but i think they are France, Spain and etc.
I think they could have, but it would have been a close call, and somebody else like Spain, Italy, or France could probably have attacked the young, weakened nation and caused a second war, possibly revoking the United States' independence.
NO
No; they wouldn't have had enough supplies. Also they provided soldiers and ships.
no because they dont have strong enough forces and they needed help
Do you see those first words - DO YOU THINK?That means that this is an opinion question - there is no right or wrong answer so long as you can back up your opinion with a fact or two.
