Yes! Read "Evidence the Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. Before you reach the third chapter, you will believe also.
Over 5000 separate Biblical details have been documented as being accurate by archaeological discoveries. This has been catalogued in a multi volume work by Dr. Clifford Wilson. Myths and lies cannot be supported by facts in this way. Some archaeologists who work in the field also state that not one single biblical detail has been contradicted by a discovery in Archaeology.
Having said that, it must be stated that no matter how many things are shown to be correct, it is still a belief that the entire Bible is God's word, since so much is outside of human verification. What is important is that, where The Bible is able to be checked and verified it is shown clearly to be correct. This applies to science as well.
No! There are many well written and objective books that look at the numerous errors and inconsistencies in the Bible. Raymond E. Brown (An Introduction to the New Testament ) sums it all up when, in comparing the genealogies of Matthew and Luke, "Inspiration does not guarantee historicity or reconcilibility; otherwise God should have inspired the two evangelists to give us the same record."
Literalists read the Bible by taking the text as written in a straightforward, factual manner without interpreting it symbolically or metaphorically. They believe in the literal truth and historical accuracy of the Bible and strive to understand and apply its teachings directly without much allegorical interpretation.

No. You must believe that the entire Bible is inerrant and the inspired word of God, but you certainly may not believe in it literally, it wouldn't make any sense literally, it tends to appear to disagree with itself.
He tended to believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible and had a deep faith that the Bible was the true word of God.
Yes, Catholics believe that the Bible is true. They consider it to be the inspired and infallible Word of God which contains the teachings that God has revealed to humanity. However, they interpret the Bible within the context of Sacred Tradition and the teachings of the Church.
Believing that Jesus is the Son of God and the Bible is God's Word are core beliefs of Christianity. All true denominations of Christianity (Baptist, Methodist, Catholicism, etc.) believe that.
