Over 5000 separate Biblical details have been documented as being accurate by archaeological discoveries. This has been catalogued in a multi volume work by Dr. Clifford Wilson. Myths and lies cannot be supported by facts in this way. Some archaeologists who work in the field also state that not one single biblical detail has been contradicted by a discovery in Archaeology.
Having said that, it must be stated that no matter how many things are shown to be correct, it is still a belief that the entire Bible is God's word, since so much is outside of human verification. What is important is that, where The Bible is able to be checked and verified it is shown clearly to be correct. This applies to science as well.

∙ 8y agoNo! There are many well written and objective books that look at the numerous errors and inconsistencies in the Bible. Raymond E. Brown (An Introduction to the New Testament ) sums it all up when, in comparing the genealogies of Matthew and Luke, "Inspiration does not guarantee historicity or reconcilibility; otherwise God should have inspired the two evangelists to give us the same record."
