Yes. They can cross breed because they are of the same species.
A Platy is a Platy it is either a Xiphophorus maculatus or X. variatus. Colour does not matter at all. They are all the same species and can interbreed. They can also cross breed with Swordtails (Xiphophorus helleri).
There is no reason to do so.
they can eat tropical fish flakes buy crunch them up for them to make it eaiser for them they also eat live or frozen bloodworms hopes this helps:-)
If the fish is more red than orange it could be a red wag swordtail or even a platy. well... male- all orange with a line of black on the under side of the tale is a xiphophorus helleri swordtail from the southern mexico, Guatemala
They can have 10-50 fry but you can never really tell. BTW they give birth to live young so immediately remove them from the tank and put them into a breeding tank.
If the fish are mature and in breeding condition they should mate within an hour or so and he will continue to drive her and mate with her on and off for as long as they are together. I would just leave them alone and let them get on with it.
wag wag
Wag is a verb (to wag) and a noun (a wag).
You don't give much information to go on but I would gather she died because she refused to let her youngsters be born (released). Livebearers have the abiltiy to stop parturition if their conditions do not suit them. I would guess that the tank the fish was in was either too small or the water was not of the correct parameters for Plattys.
Wag's was created in 197#.
