Dipsticks should be removed, wiped free of oil, re insterted all the way back in, removed again and checked.
Add 2 quarts of Honda 4stroke motor oil then check the level @ dipstick and adjust accordingly. Good luck & don't forget to change the oil filter.
Honda manual " Pour the recommended oil into the crankcase, approximately 1.0 US qt (0.9L, 0.8 Imp qt). Check with the dipstick not screwed in.

The 1200 has a dip stick near the the oil fil cap. Check it while the bike is on the center stand. After unscrewing the dipstick and wiping it off you check the oil level without screwing the dipstick back in. Simply put the dipstick in the hole, remove and check. After verifying the proper oil level, then screw the dipstick back into the engine block
