Bullying is a very serious problem in schools worldwide. Every school has some form of bullying, and it is unavoidable. I believe teachers need to be trained to deal with bullying better, as many simply ignore it rather than acting upon what they see. Generally private schools have less bullying than public schools, but they still have the problem. Being bullied as a child affects a person for the rest of their life, and can lead them to depression and perhaps eventually suicide.
Yes, bullying is still a major problem in all schools today. Elementary, Middle, and High Schools still have bullying and principals, teachers and parents need to come together to form a solution to the problem.
I seriously doubt that you can go anywhere in the world (be it a school or not) and there not be ANY bullying at all. Some schools are better than others, though, about taking care of the bullying.
The more people know about the bullying (most likely by word of mouth-when was the last time you saw a school say 'We have a huge bullying problem') the less people enroll there. About schools in general, some bullied children escape by switching to homeschooling.

There are different types of bullying in schools.
To help schools fight bullying
Various schools are taking different actions to prevent bullying. One of the things some schools are doing is to implement a workshop for staff on how to deal with bullying.
Bullying is no more prevalent in schools than it has ever been in the past. It is simply more apparent and immediate because of modern technology. As far as the attention it has gotten in schools, this is likely due to the attention it has gotten from the media. Misery sells, and media sells misery.
One campaign used in schools for anti bullying is the no tolerance policy. If any student is found to be bullying, they are immediately expelled.
Well it does occur especially though cyber bullying.
Not enough.
Should bullying be addressed by schools or by parents? i think by schools because when the kids are at school it under the kids supervision and under there responsibility.
