Is it legal for a police officer ot force you to pay for a ticket before your court date?

No police Officer has the power to make you pay a ticket before the court date. I happen to be a police Officer. When a Police Officer writes you a traffic citation he will give you a Court date that you are suppose to attend to prove your innocence. If you choose not to attend court you have the option to pay the fine. Paying the fine before your court date basically is saying that you are guilty. If the officer tells you to just pay the fine reason being is that he either has a weak case against you or he wont show up to court. Now for Example if you plea not guilty in court the Judge will give you another court date to attend in which the officer will be given a subpoena to testify against you. If the Officer does not show up in court the case will be dismissed.

What is a reporting officer in a police department?

Not sure just what is being asked - however - anytime an officer submits a report of any kind he is termed to be the "reporting officer' for that particular case.

Who has higher rank a parole officer of Police detective?

Rank is irrelevant in this case, because parole officers and police detectives work for different organizations. A police detective usually works for a police department, and a parole officer works for the Dept. of Corrections or a Parole and Probation agency.

Can Police investigate a case if their family are involved?

There is usually no legal prohibition to a police officer investigating an incident where a member of his family is involved, but the practice is frowned on. The preferable method of handing such a situation would be to call one's supervisor or another officer and ask the case be re-assigned.

Can a case for dwi be dismissed if police officer lied on the report he filed?

I see no reason why a police officer would risk his/her reputation, job, income, benefits et cetera to lie about a simple traffic offense such as DWI, of someone he/she just met at the time of the arrest. I think what you mean is that if there are errors in the paperwork, a good lawyer can find them and fight the case in court. In general, better be safe and not drive if one has been drinking alcohol.

How do know if you got a ticket?

The police officer will hand it to you, or in the case of red light cameras, it would be sent to you by mail.

What is a police officer's work environment like?

A police officer's work environment can be fast-paced, unpredictable, and high-stress. They primarily work outdoors, patrolling neighborhoods, responding to emergencies, and investigating incidents. Officers may also spend time in a station processing paperwork, conducting interviews, and collaborating with colleagues.

How do you get battery charges dropped against your boyfriend if you called the police and claimed that he beat you so the police issued a warrant for his arrest but you were lying?

You should meet with the police officer who was working your case. If he gave you a card, use that number. If not, call your local non-emergency police line and ask for the officer handling your case. You should confess that you filed a false report and he will drop the charges. This may be a difficult process, but it is important that you tell the truth. Battery charges can very seriously affect your boyfriend's future, including his career and his future love-life. I sincerely hope you follow through and I wish you luck.

Can college police arrest people?

A college security officer can stop you only on campus with a legal reason for doing so. One cannot frisk you anywhere unless he is an actual law enforcement officer, and then only to ensure the safety of the public, property, or himself, or in the presence of probable cause or emergent circumstances. Anything else could be Wrongful Detention.
