No I don't think so.
Most likely the new pulley is not in line with the rest.
You will need to buy and install an ac bypass pulley from Napa or other parts store to bypass the ac compressor. You will need to buy and install an ac bypass pulley from Napa or other parts store to bypass the ac compressor.
If you need a diagram to figure out the routing then you should not mess with it! Hint: It's serpintine! That means that first it runs over a toothed pulley and then it runs over a smooth pulley. The biggest pulley is the crankshaft and is toothed because it drives the belt.[[User:67.86.249.138|67.86.249.138]] 02:33, 1 Mar 2009 (UTC)Get it?
what are you bypassing
There is no adjustment. If it does not provide the correct tension it needs to be replaced. It is cheap and easy to do yourself from underneath.
Loosen the pulley first and then the belt should loosen off the tracks., follow the diagram on the hood
this link ^ should help you out
bad tensioner, replace the belt tensioner/pulley. I had the same problem.
An ac bypass pulley for a 1989 Chevrolet can be purchased at any auto parts store. The cost for the pulley starts at $26.04.
hey had this same prob u cant bypass it but you can buy a bypass pulley but gotta remove the compressor i tried to bypass with a belt but its not enough tension so get the pulley and your good to go
You should see a bolt just above the top pulley on the AC belt. Turn that bolt and the pulley will move. Of course, you want to see it moving down in order to relieve the tension. Then you can remove the belt.
