No, Florida does not currently require any type of credentialing to work as a veterinary technician. The Florida Veterinary Medical Association does offer voluntary certification as a veterinary technician, though. Voluntary certification requires that a person be a graduate of an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited veterinary technology program and have passed both the Veterinary Technician National Exam and the Florida Practical Exam.
