I can say that its a very high probability that you need a drivers licence, I just finished my EMT-B certification in Utah and they require a drivers licence. Typically how it works is you would have a 2 man ambulance crew for each rig and the more experienced EMT or paramedic will be working with the patient and the less experienced one is going to be driving.
But, Its possible that you won't need one. If you decide to work in the hosptial or in a medical supply store (both of which I have seen require or prefer EMT-B/CNA certification or higher) But, I can at least tell you I suspect that you will need one. When I started my certification this fall there was a kid that asked that on the first day of class, and the instructor told me what I just told you and he dropped the class before the next day. So, don't be discouraged, it all depends on what your local and state protocols dictate. It would be best to contact your local EMS or Fire Department to know more. Best of luck!
Doubtful. I've never seen an EMS which didn't require it.
you will need a valid drivers license. some departments also require some form of EMT
In order to drive an ambulance you must have an EMT certification and a commercial drivers license.
can I exchange my Florida drivers license for a wisconsin drivers license
You ca obtain an EMT license through different schools. There are many different educational centers that offer the courses. They are a one year course.
An EMT license is basically a paramedic. They are first response units that get to a scene first to provide life saving care until they can get them to a hospital.
