Every child is expected to attend school and graduate high school (usually age 18). While some do drop out from school somewhere in between most do get that high school diploma and continue to get some college. W/o at least a high school diploma no one should expect to get a halfway decent job.
While in the Army I completed my high school and was given a Washington State High School diploma. How can I get a copy of it?
Its not a accredited school, but all state colleges have to accept it like: Macon State, Fort Valley, Mercer Unversity. Tech school like Central GA Tech, Middle GA Tech don't accept it. But, I know of a five dudes from Byron, GA have that diploma and they are in Atlanta, GA attending a Tech school. I have the same diploma because of the GHSGT getting ready to attend Macon State College

No, Harry did no attend public school. A public school in the UK (which is where the books are set) is a school that the pupils have payed to attend. A state school is a school funded by the government. As Harry does not pay to attend Hogwarts we can presume is funded by the Ministry of Magic. So by UK definition it is a state school.
