No you do not. If you look at the back of your computer you will see 2 small screews that hold a small medal plate on. Remove them and snap the prom out of yours and install it in the used one. You must be sure that the used one is out of the same year truck that yours is. Motor size, transmission and year must be the same are it will not work in yours.
