You do not have to. It is recommended that you do, since mayo has eggs as an ingredient. Try cooking an egg then leaving it on your counter for a few days, MMmmm yummy. Personally, if the manufacturer suggests I refrigerate after opening I do so.
There is no reason not to refrigerate them immediately. When I boil eggs, I either eat them or refrigerate them for later consumption.
