To remove the dash to get to the radio from a 2005 Kia Optima, begin by prying around the edge of the trim around the gear shifter. Then, remove the screws from the bottom of the dash and pry the trim away from the radio area. This will expose the radio bezel.
take the radio knobs off and remove the two nuts behind them, reach under the dash and remove two nuts from radio mounts on side of radio, unplug wiring and antenna, pull radio out from back of dash
I had an 1990 with jbl system (factory) in it there was one in the fuse box under the dash and one under the hood in the power dist.box 5 amp hope this helps
Under the dash, small cover to remove toward the left of the steering wheel..
No. just remove the plastic piece around the radio. It pops off.
It is not necessary to remove the dash. Only necessary to remove enough of the trim pieces to get the radio out. If you look carefully you will see what needs to be removed.
Remove the neg battery cable tehn the aC ducts under the dash. Then take the wires and bolts holding the radio from under the dash. Then remove the knobs and the nuts under them. Work the radio out from under the dash. First remove the bezel from the dash, (around the radio). Use 4 heavy pieces of wire and insert one into each of the holes in the corners of faceplate of the radio. Push them in approx. 2 inches then pull the radio out the front and disconnect the wires and antenna.
You have to remove the vent & bezel assembly from below the radio first, then the entire dash bezel from around the instrument cluster & radio.
How do I remove the dash on a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4wd to get to the radio wires?
First remove the woodgrain trim on the dash by carefully uncliping it, and then removing the wires for the heated seats and passenger climate control. Then open up the drivers door and unclip the panel on the end of the dash(which has an air duct for the door) Then remove the 7mm screw on the end of the dash. You can now unclip the dash panel, you will have to move the gearshift down, so park on a level surface so the car wont roll. You can then remove the screws that hold the radio in and pull it out.
I believe that is in the center stack of the dash and that you remove the radio to change it
Carefully
