Where can you find the painting by Ellen Shaw titled Moonlight Sea that is approximately 2' by 3' and has a brass plate that says 'Ellen Shaw Moonlight Sea' and what is the price?

The painting you indicate is a lithograph copy of the artist's original. This can be purchased from several art dealer's websites, including IllusionBlings store. The artist's name is Peter Ellenshaw. An interesting fact about Ellenshaw is that he was an Academy Award-winning special effects artist who worked for Disney.

What are the job expectations for a special effect makeup artist?

They vary from job to job. Special effects makeup artists may work for film productions (a one-time job), television series (a season-to-season job), live theater (run of the production), or even theme parks (part or full-time job). On films, a special effects makeup artist would most likely start as an assistant, not actually doing any designing, but carrying out other people's designs. Later in their career, they would be involved in more design work, working with the wardrobe, production design, and special effects teams, among others, to create the looks and effects needed. Similar experiences for television series, but they'd be generally working with a known group of actors, within known design guidelines (think Star Trek -- the aliens never did anything too crazy, and were often used over and over). I don't really know about live theater, so hopefully someone else can fill in that answer. For theme parks, there would be very, very little actual design work, since those decisions are usually made at a corporate level. The work would generally be the same, day after day, applying makeup effects for set characters and shows, changing occassionally for seasonal productions.

What is the name of the people who make sound effects for movies?

That would be a Foley artist. Very cool job. Well, actually, there are many people involved. A Foley artist is the person that creates the sounds (e.g. claps the coconuts to make horse galloping sounds). That's the fascinating part to me! They work with a recording engineer who captures the sounds. There is also a person who does the sound editing in a movie (the mixer, I think). That is the person who decides what audio to use from the original shoot, from the foley artist, from a sound effects database, overdubbed with music, etc. etc. Technically that would be the person who "puts them in" the movie. interesting interview with a foley artist at http://woodyssoundadvice.com/?p=22
