Check that the alternator and the power steering don't work of the same belt.
For the TS Astra with hydraulic-electric power steering, it takes a Pentosin CHF fluid. A couple of equivalents I have come across include Castrol Hydraulic System Mineral Oil Plus, and Penrite LDAS fluid.

More information needed,there could be a power steering belt and a alternator belt .Both of these would need removing to get access to the cambelt,which takes a lot of space to describe.Suggest check similar queries and if no help,repost question with more info on what you wish to do.
No power steering was not in 1997 corsa. it came after 1999
On newer corsas the power steering is all Electronic so it doesn't need power steering fluid.
82bhp it depends entirely on the engine and year really. the C14NZ from mk3 astra's was only 60bhp
at the back of the engine bay.
