More than likely no. It's far more dependant on your vehicle's alternator than the battery. Even so, unless you've installed a large, multi-amp, mega-system, you'll probably be OK with your current battery and alternator. If you can see your headlights "dimming to the beat", then you may need a bigger battery, or simply a capacitor inline with the amp. Caps can cost as much (or more) than a battery(or alternator). So if your headlights are dimming, you'll have to weigh the pros/cons of each to determine your best course of action.

For me the reason the clock and stereo were resetting was because they were losing all power from the battery. The battery was dead. maybe your cables need to be cleaned or there is a loose connection.

Errr. One word. YES! First of all. Is your car running any other peripheral equipment? i.e. Air Con, Power Steering, Electric Mirrors, Electric Sunroof, Power Windows? If the answer to this is yes, then it may benefit you to not run so much a bigger battery (this could short out the electronics in your vehicle by running TOO MUCH current through the electronics system) but perhaps a separate system for the stereo (perhaps storing the battery in a cleverly concealed, fireproof area in the back (away from the tank) or in the engine bay. As it will only require a small battery (smaller than a hatchback battery) to run your stereo... if you hook it up right, it will kick into gear when you start the car up... Hope this helps!

need to enter trhe factory code for stereo, battery death resets the unit to factory default the idea is you steal the unit and cant get it to work without code.........usually written on unit or in the car manual which should have come with the car. if not...........happy new stereo unit!

Sounds like a dead battery. You need the battery to start the car, but once it is running the engine runs completely off of the alternator (which also recharges the battery if the battery is still good).
