You do not need an iTunes account to use the iTunes software with an iPod. ∙ 14y agoNo, you can also use an AOL account, but you need either an apple ID or an AOL ID - otherwise there's no way for Apple to link your iTunes purchases up to a bank account for you to pay for your purchases.

∙ 14y agoYes, you do need an itunes account to buy music from that site. I advise you to not download bearshare because will give you viral problems on your computer. Limewire is quite sketchy too. Although, if you own a Mac computer then downloading either Bearshare or Limewire should not be a problem for you. Music from itunes is much greater quality on 100% of it's products.
