I believe so, and you will also want to make sure that you are in a hunting area. Arkansas is currently having problems with people shooting deer in their backyards in city limits. Although it is deer season, you still cannot use a firearm in city limits like that.
Yes, any person, 16 years of age or older, must have a hunting license in order to hunt anywhere in Arkansas. There are a few exceptions for people hunting on lands along the Mississippi River, provided those people have a valid license from the neighboring state along the river. Please check with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commision for more info at: www.agfc.com
I live in Louisiana and I reckon you here do needs a some kind of license because my great uncle Victor loves to go hunting, and he brings me back deer sausage. The answer is yes you do need a liscense.
Every State has its own laws regarding hunting. The laws are subject to change over time, so they are best not listed here. The best thing to do is select your state, check their law and abide. Search Hunting Laws "Your State" to find the recent laws.
I would check with the Arkansas DNR to make sure. Lots of Myths exist about liscense and hunting land you own. Most states have gone to a "Residency" Clause. Only if you actually live on the land and it is your primary residence. Some States allow family of the resident landowner to hunt without a liscense.
States have done this to prevent out of state Hunt Clubs form allowing members to hunt without the usually expensive "out of State Liscense".
Hunting Liscense's are realitively inexpensive and the money goes to protect the sport. Thay are a good investment in the future of hunting.

in most states you may hunt your own property with NO lic. Not true for all type of game. Small game OK, but big game (not something you hunt with air rifles). may need a permit or win a lottery. Check your local DNR office.
