Yes you will need a phone line unless you have the new 360 Slim which has Wi-Fi.
Hi Sonya, sorry for the delay. The answer, is yes. You will be able to hook up magic jack to your uverse router on phone line 2, and everything should work great. I would use the computer in phone line 1's room to connect to the router on phone line 2. If however, you have problems making the magic jack work with the uverse router (some people have) you will need to update your magic jack and router firmware. Let me know if this has resolved your issue! My apologies for the delay.
Yes, you can. Phone line or cable is required for internet. If you want to use a router for local network only you do not need any other kinds of connections.
it isn't possible, hiport is VOip modem which using internet line to covert to phone, that's why they required high speed internet, recommend 1.5mbps DSLActually, if you're talking about their Linksys router they offer, then you do have the option of using your current modem/router and getting their adapter (Cisco Hi-Port) which plugs into your router.---YES: if you want the T-Mobile HOME PHONE LINE you will need one of T-Mobile's routers, because it has a socket that accepts the small SIM card containing your home phone line customer identity.
You either need a wireless router or an ether-net cable.
No, no existing phone line is needed, just internet service. the Magic Jack connects either to your modem or router, or to the USB port of your computer, depending on which type you purchase.
you need a router to fix it sorrymarian4
A DSL line requires phone service in the house. A cable modem does not as it uses the cable t.v. lines. Once you have Internet access at home, you connect a wireless router to extend the service to the entire house. That's not exactly accurate. You need a line to the house from the phone company, but you don't have to have phone service, you can have stand alone DSL service.
The best thing to do is to set up a wireless router at your downstairs point and then access the Internet anywhere in the house from that. Presuming you have a laptop that has wireless access. Then you don't need to worry about the line going upstairs. Your PC at the point of access can still access the net direct via the line, so it doesn't need to have wireless. So just get yourself a wireless router.
hes right, but u dont need a wireless router connector on the back of ur 360 if u just gonna plug it in directly to your modem or router
You need to pay a subsciption fee and if you are using a wireless router than you need wireless internet.
ial up independent of the broadband by installing a modem on the PC and connecting a phone line to it, but it wont share the connection. If you want to share dial up over your network with a dsl router, you need an external dial up modem and a second access point, like a non-broadband router, look here. http://www.ezlan.net/DialUp.HTML
